Hi, my name is Claude and I'm a native New Yorker currently based in New York City.

Before my 5 years of experience in UX, I spent 7 years in the men’s fashion industry designing and producing fabrics, suiting, shirting, and every other item in a man’s wardrobe. Although there are fundamental differences between these design practices, they also have similarities.

Both require pixel (or millimeter) perfection in their execution, the ability to visualize and communicate abstract concepts, and strict adherence to deadlines. Both involve working with a production team to execute a vision as accurately as possible, given any constraints, whether expected or unforeseen.

As a fashion designer, you're expected to let your ego and imagination guide your decisions, whereas in UX design your decisions are driven primarily by the user's needs and behaviors; an added challenge. I've found that the more I'm able to interact with the user and deliver a product that might have a meaningful effect on their lives, the more satisfaction I feel.

Making things is my passion both in and out of the office. In my off time I'm often cooking for friends and family or out taking photographs. I'm also a massive fan of jazz, film, and post-modern architecture. Below are a handful of photos I've enjoyed taking over the past few months.
